The partnership was set up to agree a vision and the priorities for the area to work better together to help to improve services and to involve local communities.
The membership of the partnership is made up of representatives from the public, private and voluntary sectors of our community. The partnership has developed the first community plan by consulting and involving our members, networks and individual organisations. As a result the first plan was distributed throughout the district in March 2003 The plans priorities are
- Access to services.
- Transport
- Community facilities.
- Health and welfare.
- Caring for and using the environment.
- Skills training.
- Access to information.
- Young people's services.
- Involving communities in local issues.
The Community Plan is only the first step and an action plan is being prepared. This will set out:
- The specific actions we will take to meet the aims;
- Who will be involved;
- The timescales;
- The targets we need to reach, and
- The number of milestones (how we will measure our progress).
